    I made this for a fall bridal shower recently and it was a big hit and very easy. It would be great as a pre-Thanksgiving dinner drink.

    My mom makes a similar drink in her crock-pot called Wassail (like, "here we go a wassail'ing" that is more delicious. You can take the prior ingredients but also add a teaspoon of bitters, and sugar to taste, and let it all simmer for an afternoon. The flavors need time to mesh -- really, somehow it transcends the ingredients much more the longer it cooks! They have the recipe in old Crock-pot Cookbooks but not my new one, alas.
