Ingredients

  • 3 small red onions
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons good balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup good olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Cut the onions in half and slice 1/4 inch thick. Place on a baking sheet and toss with 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the onions are tender. Remove from the oven, toss with 2 more tablespoons balsamic vinegar.

    These onions are amazing! I topped our Grilled Burgers with these and some feta cheese - awesome. So simple to make - thanks Ina!

    Amazing flavor, baked additional minutes until carmelized for a total time of 30 minutes. Served with roasted butternut squash, the onions were a real hit.
