OMG Basil and mayo - two of my favorites. This is so delish. Like some other reviewers I think the mayo (Hellmann's, of course already has enough salt. Also, would you not agree Ina has the BEST music on TV. If the show is a re-run I sometimes work around the house and just listen 'cause the music is so great. Love ya ina. Your recipes are great.

I love this sandwich! I've been making it for years. The mayo is the real star of the show, and can be used in many other applications - I usually double it and keep it in the fridge for other sandwiches. It's also great as a dipping sauce for crudités, or for sweet potato fries! I would recommend using the full 15 basil leaves, and omitting the salt altogether. Mayo has plenty of sodium in it, and when I made this for the first time with the salt, it was almost inedible. I also add a healthy dose of freshly ground black pepper - everything is better with pepper!
