Directions
Prepare your favorite boxed or homemade brownies, adding 3/4 teaspoon ground chipotle chile pepper and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon to the batter (for a batch that fits a 9-by-13-inch pan). Top each Mexican brownie with a scoop of dulce de leche ice cream and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Fudgy mix makes the better brownie in my opinion. Adding chile and chocolate to the mix does give it a "Mexican" flair....Classic Mexican Mole sauce is famous for it's use of chocolate and chili together! The culinary world has used the same combo of chocolate and chili in cupcakes, ice cream, and even cocktails!!! Love it!

I'm not even Mexican and I'm offended. Adding chili powder to something doesn't make it Mexican.

Why so easily offended? As Americans, aren't we proud of our freedom of choice? If you don't want to use a box mix, then don't. I think there are enough recipes on this site to please even the fussiest cooks.
