Fudgy mix makes the better brownie in my opinion. Adding chile and chocolate to the mix does give it a "Mexican" flair....Classic Mexican Mole sauce is famous for it's use of chocolate and chili together! The culinary world has used the same combo of chocolate and chili in cupcakes, ice cream, and even cocktails!!! Love it!

Think you're in the minority about being offended. As someone who works full-time outside the home with 2 schoolage children, I just don't have the time to make everything from scratch, so how would using a shortcut hurt? Sorry, we can't all be perfect like you. Maybe some of us would like to use the extra time we save by using a box mix and spend it with our families and friends.

I am not offended! Sandra Lee uses shortcuts all the time, hence semi homemade. So if you feel better making your brownies from scratch then do so but don't chastise those who want to put together a quick dessert.
