Ingredients

  • 5 cups frozen tater tots
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons crushed garlic
  • 3 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Combine the tater tots and the olive oil in a bowl. Toss to coat, spread on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown and crisp, about 30 minutes.

Remove the tater tots from the oven, season with salt and pepper and transfer to a mixing bowl. To the taters, add the garlic, parsley and cheese. Toss to combine and serve immediately.

    Thanks to bigdoglover for suggesting that the garlic be added before baking and to cooking4family for suggesting the broiler. I added the garlic/salt/pepper before baking, since I'm a firm believer in seasoning things WHILE they cook, not after. Setting them under the broiler for a few minutes worked great as well. YUM - what a simple dish! My hubby and I both loved them and they worked great with the bloody mary flank steak.

    These were a definite hit! The only change I made was to toss the in the garlic before I baked them. A delicious, easy, twist on an old favorite. I'll definitely make these again!

    These are comfort food Sublime! I'm going to make them again tonight. I usually buy the tater tots with minced onions in them - which is in my freezer now. Can't wait to have them with the baby back ribs and 3 bean salad! Thanks Guy for bringing back such great memories!
