    Too spicy for a biscuit

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
If I make these again, I will leave out the cayanne pepper. I don't know if it's a mid-west thing or not, but we don't like... spicy biscuits. We like them savory. And, I followed the recipe to a tee, but they were rubbery. I use a stand-a-lone thermometer in the oven so I know the temp was correct. I'm an excellent cook, so something this EZ should have came out correctly. Read more

    Great Biscuits

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
In stead of melting the butter, I cut in 3/4 of a stick and baked them an additional 10 minutes. They were delicious. I... will definitely make these biscuits again.Read more

    Surprisingly good!

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
After reading all the reviews, I was skeptical and apprehensive to make these but I gave it a try anyway. I halved the... recipe and tweaked it as others recommended. I cut in some butter and used garlic salt to give the biscuits an extra kick. They turned out really moist and delicious. I will make this again.Read more

    Ours turned out great

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
After reading all the reviews that were written, we took into account everybody's opinions and combined them together. We... basically "tweaked" the receipe to all of your opinions. First of all, we (my 10 year old daughter and I) omitted the cayenne pepper and added minced garlic, onion flakes, and a blend of rosemary and thyme. We also added an egg to the mixture and about 1/2 cup more cheese - we used longhorn. We baked it for an additional 10 minutes as well. They were very moist and tasty. For those of you who did not have success the first time around, try these tips and see if you like them. Andrea - Goodyear, AZRead more

    Try this:

Rated: 2 stars out of 5
Mix all the ingredients from the flour to the cheese (which I would increase to 1 c. to 1 1/2 c.). Cut in 1/4 c. of... shortening or 1/2 stick of cold butter. Add buttermilk. Stir until moistened. Do not over stir. These are drop biscuits so they do not require kneading. You could brush them with melted butter before baking or after. My preference would be after. Note: If you want them to be similar to the Red Lobster biscuits, I would definitely add 1/2 to 1 t. of garlic powder. Read more

    A slight change

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
we had the same problem with the biscuits as every one else. All we did was tweak the recipe a little bit in stead of 1/2... a teaspoon of cayenne we put a 1/4, and instead of 3/4 cups of cheese we put 1 cup. we have them at least twice a week with dinner. hope this helps!Read more
