Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon wok or vegetable oil, 1 turn of the pan in a slow stream
  • 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil, several drops or a drizzle
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (a handful)
  • Coarse salt

Directions

Steam green beans covered in 1/2-inch boiling water for 2 minutes. Transfer beans to a colander and run under cold water. Drain well.

Heat a wok shaped skillet or large nonstick frying pan over high heat. Go once-around-the-pan with wok or vegetable oil, add several drops sesame oil, and crushed pepper flakes. The pan will smoke. Add beans and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add sesame seeds and coarse salt and toss to coat beans evenly.

    Tasty & Easy

Ok, I have to admit, I am not a fan and would normally shy away from her recipes. I was in a hurry and gave this a shot. I... was pleasantly surprised. Fast, easy and quite good. Sorry Anthony Bourdain.Read more

    Super Beans!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This was so easy to prepare and tasted great...much better than the usual overcooked and mushy green beans. I included a... drained can of water chestnuts with the saute for even more crunch. Our family loved them. Thanks RachaelRead more

    Quick, Easy and Delish!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This dish is a definite winner. It is easy, takes just a few minutes and has plenty of flavor. The sesame oil and seeds... adds a delightful touch to the fresh crispness of the beans. We loved it! I did not add the red pepper flakes, as we don't care for them.Read more
