Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) refrigerated pie crust
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Roll the pie crust out into a 12-inch circle. Place the crust on a large baking sheet. Top the crust with apple slices and cranberries. Drizzle lemon juice over top. Sprinkle sugar over top. Pull up the sides of the crust slightly and roll over, covering the filling by about 1 inch.

Bake 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.

Easiest apple pie I ever made!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
In years past I have slaved for hours making homemade apple pie. This version is not only delicious but it takes minutes to... prepare. I added a few of my own ingredients and vary it each time (e.g. cinnamon, crumb topping, orange liquer, orange zest). I doesn't matter. Each time it has turned out great. My family loves it and I don't have to spend and hour and a half making it. Genius idea!Read more

My husband and I really enjoyed this desert. I did add butter and some nuts. I have also used canned pie filling when fresh... fruit was not available. Very good.Read more

    So easy, so good.

I love this recipe. I agree that it takes a lot longer than 20 minutes to brown the crust. The first time I made it, I took... mine out of the oven after 40 minutes and it still wasn't quite brown enough. The filling can be "tweaked" in many different ways just for the fun of it. It is also enhanced by placing slices of butter on the open area when it comes out of the oven. I'll make it frequently.Read more

i must say i modified this by using homemade applesauce in stead of fresh sliced apples-i had some on hand and i was afraid... raw apples would never get cooked thru. very delicious and we finished it off in one sitting :) we'll definitely have this again and i plan to try other flavors too-peach preserves, maybe!Read more

    Very easy and tastes great!

In addition to the dried cranberries, I added walnuts, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon and finished it with an egg wash so... that it would brown a bit. I also used one more apple than the recipe called for. Based on other reviews, I cut the apples thinner than she did on the show. It came together quickly and was so much easier than making a pie - and the presentation was even better! It was a big hit with the family!Read more
