DELICIOUS!!! Could an apple pie get any easier? I make this so often, I could do it with blindfolds on! I originally followed the recipe but now I make all kinds of variations. I omit the cranberries (not a family favorite I am a crumb topping of 1/2 cup flour, 1/4c brown sugar, 1/4c sugar, pecans, and a 1/2 stick of butter. I use egg wash and lightly brush the edges of the galette and sprinkle with sugar before baking, great for added crunch.

Yum yum! So easy to make-it's a must. Do add a pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon to the apple mixture and a few pats of butter. Brush the crust with melted butter, too! I substituted brown sugar for white sugar. Also, I agree with some of the other reviews that you have to bake this for longer than directed. It took about 35 minutes for mine to bake through. Serve warm. Your family and friends will love you for making this.

I made this the day after i saw this episode. I don't make pies or bake much for that matter. I buy already-made pies, so this recipe sounded too good to be true. It was so quick and easy and delicious! I read other comments and also added nutmeg and cinnamon and some butter in the middle. My daughter and I loved it! We ate it all and made it again the next night since i had extra apples leftover. It can take 20 min to bake as long as the apple slices are thinly sliced. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with this recipe and you're good to go. Will surely make this again!!! Thanks Robin! It's a keeper!
