Ingredients

  • 4 pounds baby back ribs, cut in 1/2
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chili garlic sauce
  • 1 cup Catalina dressing
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Directions

Preheat broiler. Line bottom portion of broiler pan with foil for easy clean up. Spray top rack lightly with cooking spray.

Season ribs with garlic salt and pepper. Broil for 5 to 6 minutes, turn and broil for an additional 5 to 6 minutes. Place browned ribs in slow cooker.

In a mixing bowl, stir together remaining ingredients. Pour sauce mixture over ribs. Move ribs around to make sure they are all coated. Cover and cook on High setting for 3 to 4 hours or Low for 8 hours.

With tongs, remove ribs from slow cooker and let cool slightly before cutting into individual rib pieces. Skim grease from sauce. Serve ribs with sauce on the side.

WHOA. Words can't even describe how fantastic these ribs were! Followed the recipe exact... end result had a slight kick,... but was ungodly delicious! I slow cooked for 6 hours... I basted roughly every hour and moved them around a bit so that they cooked more evenly until they started getting too tender (roughly the 5 hr mark) then I left them alone and just basted every 15 minutes. Luckily I was home for most of the time that these were cooking because basting them probably added SO much flavor. These are by FAR the best ribs I've ever had... beats grilled ribs any day. The sauce is phenomenal- who knew based on the strange combo? DO NOT ALTAR! I can't believe some people gave this horrible reviews... makes me want to faint! I'm turning the rest into pulled pork sandwiches tomorrow and keeping this recipe secret so I can be praised every time I make it for company :) hehehehe. Read more

    Awesome!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
These ribs were AWESOME! I have never made ribs in the crock pot before never have time to cook them in the oven all day... then grill them so, I thought I'd take a chance. I put these in the crock pot on low this morning before work and came home to an amazing dinner. The ribs were moist and fell off the bone, my 8 year old couldn't get enough of the BBQ sauce and my 10 year old who hates BBQ had seconds! Thanks Sandra, I will definitely make these again.Read more

    So delicious!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I have made these ribs several times, and my husband & I love them every time. they are easy & delicious. i pop them in... before church, then have a nice side with them, and Sunday dinner is doen! since I am a preacher, that is a big help. But I don't understand all the "rave" reviews who completely changed the recipe. If you substitute or leave something out, or make lots of changes, you aren't really rating THIS recipe!Read more

    A Little Tweek

I tweek the recipe by skipping the oven and adding a 12oz can of Dr. Pepper to the slow cooker. It seems to tenderize and... caramelize.Read more

    Easy Recipe

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I was apprehensive about this recipe since my family is use to the traditional way I fix ribs by boiling then adding to the... grill. I live in Michigan and the weather is really cold so I couldn't use the grill. I made this recipe before I went to work it took me about 25 min. from start to finish. When I got home to my we sat down to dinner and my husband and 2 yr. old loved them. My husbands comment when I asked if he liked them or was just eating because he was hungry was he loved them and was trying not to eat them all so we could have more. I thought they were great very tender and fell off the bone. Very simple to make. Read more

    cooked to perfection

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
this recipe is great! by broiling the ribs first they keep the crispy texture you want on the outside and fall of goodness... when you bite in. on the show she uses some crushed red pepper flakes but the recipe doesn't call for it. you could add it either way or totally just use your favorite bbq sauce (1 cup) rather than buy the ingredients for sandra's sauce. This is something I will keep in my slow cooker routine.Read more
