Ingredients
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, plus extra for grill
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 8 thinly cut (about 1/2-inch thick) smoked pork chops
Directions
Preheat a grill pan to medium-high.
In a plastic resealable bag, big enough to fit the chops, mix together the sugar, honey, oil, lime juice, and red pepper flakes. Add the pork chops and let marinate for at least 20 minutes.
Remove the pork from the marinade. Lightly brush the grill with oil. Put the chops on the grill and cook until grill marks form, about 2 minutes. Rotate the chops 90 degrees, and grill for 2 minutes more, to create diamond grill marks. Flip and cook another 2 minutes. Remove from grill to a serving platter and serve.

Easy to make & great flavor. I used relatively thick chops and they stayed moist & tender inside. Marinated for about an hour - next time will do that longer. Will definitely make again.

I didn't think it was bad. I didn't use smoked chops b/c I'm not a fan of smoke flavor. I added salt and pepper before I marinated the chops for 2 hours. Next time I will add more hot pepper and possibly some minced garlic. Flavors were very subtle... my husband loved it but I prefer something with a little more bang. Will be making again. It's SO easy.

This recipe is deceiving-it is so easy that you have no idea how great it will be. The flavors complement pork well without overpowering the entire dish. You can make this as sweet or hot as you like. We went with a bit more sour and heat, which I think also tenderized the pork. It’s perfect on the grill in the spring through the fall, but also works great if you’re baking it along with apples, carrots and other veggies. The marinade is so good, I wll use it on grilled chicken.
