Ingredients
- 3/4 cups melted butter
- 4 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup large walnut pieces mixed with chunks of premium-grade bar chocolate
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Microwave butter and chocolate on high about 2 minutes until melted. Add each remaining ingredient, stirring after each addition. Gently fold in the walnuts and chunks of chocolate. Pour into a 9 by 13-inch buttered baking dish and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out with fudgy crumbs. Do not overbake!

Gets the job done but not spectacular. I try not to eat a lot of sugar, so when I do, I want something amazing. These are wonderfully simple when you need a quick and easy recipe without making a special trip to the store. But they are a little bit greasy - you can get better flavor and texture without much more effort. I won't make them again unless I find myself in a pinch with no bittersweet chocolate in the house.

I used this simple brownie recipe and the "perfect brownie pan" and they turned out really well. I really don't know why anyone would mess with buying a brownie mix. These are so easy and great to eat as well. I'm making them again today and I may play with the recipe to see what variations I can make.
