Harmony Marceau's Bio

Season 1: Harmony Marceau

Where are you living/working now?

I am still living and working in New York City.

What have you been up to since FNS?

Wow! It seems like a lifetime ago! I have become a certified Holistic Health Practitioner, focusing on Nutrition. I consult with people on how to eat healthy foods, which are right for their bodies, depending on their deficiencies and imbalances. Because of my background in recipe development, it is great to be able to provide yummy, healthy meals for people to make! I specialize in pre/post-natal consulting, as this is a crucial and sometimes confusing time for a lot of women.

I am getting married to my longtime love, Spiros, this summer on a Greek island. I can't wait!

What did you enjoy most (and least) about being on FNS?

I knew going in that I was a bit out of my league, but not being a risk taker, I think it was a great experience for me to go out on a limb and expose myself to taking chances. Since NFNS, I have been much less fearful of failure – ironic! My least favorite part for sure was watching the editing of my constant giggle on national TV!

Do you still keep in touch with other finalists?

I haven't been the best at keeping in touch. I get to see Dan and Steve, when they are in New York, and we keep in touch; they are coming to my wedding!

Any behind-the-scenes happenings from FNS you can tell us about?

I only remember how funny it was after four days of being together 24/7, one of the other finalists asked Steve if he was adopting because his wife couldn't get pregnant. His answer was, "Yes, it's true my wife can't get pregnant!"

How did being on FNS affect your culinary career?

I didn't have much of a culinary "career" to begin with, I just loved to cook, entertain, travel and share my experiences. I will always be involved in the food world, but that to me is different than the culinary world. I didn't follow up so much on the opportunities that presented themselves, I chose to go back to school for holistic nutrition.

What advice would you offer the next round of finalists?

Really have a strong point of view on what your passion and angle represent, and why it is different and better than anything else – keep this focus through every challenge and interview. And be nice – it always wins in the end.

When you look back, would you have done anything differently?

I would have had a stronger point of view right from the beginning and stuck with it. I kind of just floated through the challenges, and tried to keep from shaking while on camera. I was just warming up to it when I was eliminated – oh well!

Are you recognized from your time on FNS?

Sometimes, and people from my hometown in Vermont still bring it up every time they see me – so sweet!

What was the greatest lesson you learned from your time on FNS?

You should never have to stab anyone in the back to get ahead (or be on a reality-based show). I think the producers may have been disappointed that we all got along so well, and were rooting for each other – it didn't feel like a competition.
