Ingredients
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
- 2 heads broccoli, cut in small florets
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- Splash chicken stock
Directions
In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, add the oil. Stir in the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until the garlic begins to brown, about 1 minute. Add the broccoli and toss until tender and it begins to color, about 3 to 4 minutes. Season the broccoli with salt and pepper, to taste. Stir in the chicken stock and cover to steam for a few minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve.

very good! exactly the kind of easy, quick, and simple saute side I was looking for. Bit on the spicy side, just the way I like it!

This was a really nice change from plain old steamed broccoli with butter. I added a little diced shallot and I had a small amount of beef stock left over form another meal, Used that instead of the chicken stock and it was great. This side was paired with blackened tilapia and cheese grits.

I thought this was good. Easy to make but Mr. McCargo's recipe for Spicy Swiss Chard and Smashed Parsnips set a very high bar and this was not at that level but was still good!
