Here is how to properly bake a potato:(choose a baking potato like a russet1. turn your oven on to 425 (1 or 2 degrees off will not hurt your potato2. Wash your potato then pat dry3. PICK UP A FORK and POKE YOUR POTATO with a few hole (only go in about 1/4 of an inch4. Wrap the potato in foil5. Place the potato on the middle rack in your oven6. Bake for 45-60 minutes until tenderIts easy...no need for all these weird needles, nails, fingers, or whatever it is you people tried.

I didn't know what to use to poke the holes with, so I just used sewing needles. I didn't want to heat up the oven so I microwaved the potato, but forgot to take the needles out. Bad idea. Sparks were flying everywhere, and my thumbs hurt because I didn't use a thimble.

My oven is broken. Will the baking part still work if I wrap the potatoes in foil and put them out in the sun?
