As good as my Tennessee Grandma's

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I'm from the south, and started cooking later in life - no one could match what my Tennessee grandmother could make, and I... had to recapture that. That has resulted in a near decade of recreating and perfecting classic southern dishes. When it comes to coleslaw, I've tried a wide variety of recipes and this is by far the most authentic, simple, and tasty. I've seen silly things with green peppers, paprika, and all kinds of nonsense that just didn't go into real southern coleslaw. This hits it just right. My only quibble is you need to adjust for the size of your cabbage head. Using the gigantic heads we get in from CA here in WA state, I use about 1/2 (of the monstrous) head to the remainder of the recipe for perfect results. Chill overnight or for a few hours for best results. Else don't change a thing in this recipe. Read more

    Simply Delicious!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
There is nothing more I can say about this cole slaw recipe, but "simply delicious." However, I always loved the red cabbage... in cole slaw. So I incorporated the red cabbage with this recipe. Amazing! Bobby Flay is off the charts! Love it!Read more

    Flay Slays the Slaw

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Simply...fantastic! So easy as I used one 1lb bag of slaw mix, halved all sauce ingredients, added some green and red bell... pepper, substituted splenda for sugar. After reading reviews, cut mustard in 1/2 ... used 1/2 t. dry mustard, 1/2 t dijon.Also- used light mayo and ff sour cream. It rested in refrig for 1 day, shrunk in size by 1/2.... WOW! The best slaw ever! Read more

    FANTASTIC spicy-sweet cole slaw

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Yes, this is spicy AND sweet. It is supposed to be. Bobby Flay's recipes ARE very flavorful! I LOVED it. I had never made... cole slaw before and there are VERY few cole slaws I really like. I searched for a recipe that I thought might come out both spicy and sweet and this was more than I could have expected it to be and so easy. I used a green and purple cabbage and probably added a little extra ingredients for the dressing. This is GREAT! My first time making cole slaw was with this recipe and I never need to try another. Thanks Bobby!Read more
