Apple Pie Granola

This sweet-and-spiced granola is meant to be eaten for dessert. Cinnamon-sugar pita chips mimic golden brown pie crust, and apple chips[ add just the right touch of tart and sweet. Eat plain, with a spoon, or sprinkle over vanilla ice cream for twist on pie a la mode.]

Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

  • 1 1/2 cups cinnamon-sugar pita chips, crushed into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1 cup apple chips, crushed
Directions
  • Position an oven rack in the center of the oven, and preheat to 325 degrees F. Whisk together the butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, apple pie spice and salt in a large bowl. Add the oats, and toss until evenly coated. Spread out on a rimmed baking sheet.
