Ingredients

  • 36 slices (1/2-inch thick) baguette bread, about 1 loaf
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 8 ounces Gorgonzola, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet. Brush with olive oil. Bake until the bread is pale golden and crisp, about 10 minutes.

Arrange the cheese on the toasts and bake until the cheese is melted, about 3 minutes.

Drizzle the toasts with honey. Place on a serving platter and serve immediately.

    I have made this appetizer numerous times and it is always a BIG hit. If you and your family & friends like gorgonzola, this... is a must try recipe. This recipe is included in Giada's first cookbook and that recipe calls for adding chopped toasted walnuts to the gorgonola. Not sure why she didn't incorporate them for the TV episode, but either way, they are fantastic.Read more

    I served this last night as part of a ladies wine and dine evening. The flavor of the cheese was strong and matched well with... the wine. I would add more honey next time. By the time the cheese had cooled slightly, the honey wasn't as present. OR Next time I'll use Blue Agave Nectar, which is a little sweeter. All around. Very good.Read more
