Ingredients

  • 7 ounces good semisweet chocolate
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons grated orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules
  • 2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)

Directions

For serving: pound cake, doughnuts, long-stemmed strawberries, bananas or pretzels

Chop the chocolate and place it in a heat-proof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Add the cream, zest, coffee, and liqueur and stir constantly until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Transfer the mixture to a fondue pot and serve warm with pound cake, doughnuts, strawberries, bananas or pretzels.

    Easy & Delicious!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
First time we made this was Thanksgiving and it was a hit. Every drop was gone. We used Guittard milk chocolate chips and... semi-sweet, 2/3rds milk to 1/3 semi sweet. We are making it again tonight for Christmas eve. Best items were whole strawberries and banana chunks for dipping. We are adding the pound cake tonight. We we also drizzle some of the fondue on sweet fresh pineapple chunks (we dont want to dip the pineapple because the juice may seize the mix). Thanks Ina for another superb and simple recipe.Read more

    Heavenly

Made this for a potluck and it was a hit. Easy to make and the results are out of this world. Strawberries are the best... dipper for this fondue. I made one small change. Not wanting to invest in a whole bottle of Grand Marnier, I substituted 2 tbsps orange juice plus 1/2 tsp. orange extract for the 2 tbsps liqueur. The only problem with this recipe is that I'll have to resist making it more often!Read more

Very yummy - a party favorite!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I just made this recipe for a holiday party and it was a huge hit! My husband isn't a fan of semi-sweet chocolate, so I... substituted half milk chocolate and half semi-sweet, and it was still just delicious. Served with almond angel food cake, shortbread cookies, pear slices and strawberries. Even though I doubled the recipe - it was one of the first things to disappear! Will make this again and again.Read more

    Absolutely WONDERFUL

Made this for my "ladies" mah jong group.....they absolutely loved it and stood around the fondue pot and said that they'd... rather eat the fondue rather than play mah jong....now that's a rave review. Very easy to make. Grande Manier is expensive but the clerk at my local liquor store advised me to just by the little "sample" bottles which were $4 each. Only used a little from one bottle so everything was perfect.....served it with pears, pinapple, cantelope, strawberries, honeydue, pretzels, pound cake and biscotti......Try it......Read more
