Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup blood orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (1 lemon)
  • 1 cup Triple Sec
  • 3 cups ice
  • 1 cup white tequila
  • 4 frozen margarita glasses

Directions

Combine the blood orange juice, lemon juice, Triple Sec, and ice in a blender and puree until completely blended. Add the tequila and puree for 2 seconds more.

Pour the mixture into the frozen margarita glasses and serve.

    Yes, it is "strong", but have you not mixed drinks before? If a recipe calls for more liquor than you are used to, cut back.... You can add more, but can not seperate it once added! Also, if you've ever been to the Hamptons, the ice is clinking by 3 and the richies love a strong drink! Bravo, Ina! Blood oragnes were beautiful.Read more

    Margaritas should be about the tequila...

    And my problem with Ina's margarita recipes are that she puts equal parts tequila and triple sec. I think Triple Sec should... only be a supporting player in a margarita. I love the idea of using blood oranges instead of limes once in a while but I'd half the juice and triple sec in the recipe and forget the lemon juice.Read more
