Ingredients

  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 honeydew melon, sliced into 12 pieces
  • 12 (6-inch) wooden bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 20 to 30 minutes
  • 12 slices ham, cut in 1/2

Directions

Preheat a grill to medium-high heat.

In a small bowl, toss together the lime juice, honey, cayenne pepper, and melon. Thread the melon chunks on the wooden skewers and wrap each chunk with ham, tucking in the ends so it stays together.

Put the skewers on the grill and cook until the ham is just crisp, about 5 minutes on each side.

Remove the skewers from the grill to a serving platter and serve.

Made this as an appetizer. WOW! Big hit. Every one loved them. I also wrapped ham around cantalope too. Still didn't have enough. Will be making these quite often. For those of you that did not see the show, the ham was wrapped around the melon first then put on the skewer. Try them, you will like them. Love the Neelys. They are so down to earth and make cooking a joy!
