How to Make Green Bean Casserole in the Microwave

This classic green-bean casserole tastes just as good as the one your mom makes. No one would ever guess that it was made in the microwave!

The Ingredients

You will need 1 pound of green beans (preferably the skinny French ones), 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1 cup cream of mushroom soup, 1/4 cup heavy cream, shredded cheese of your choice and 3/4 cups of canned french-fried onions. 

In a Microwave-Safe Bowl ...

... combine the green beans and chicken broth.

Cover with Plastic Wrap ...

... and microwave on high until tender, 6 to 8 minutes.

Uncover ...

... and stir in the mushroom soup, the cream and about 1/2 cup of the onions.

Top with Shredded Cheese ...

... once you've transferred the green beans to a microwave-safe baking dish.

Microwave on High ...

... until the liquid is simmering and thickens slightly, about 3 minutes.

Dig In

Top with the remaining onions before serving.
