Ohhh, I have been searching for a recipe like this. My grandmother used to make buttermilk pancakes that were thin and almost crepe-like, and of course none of use knows how she made them! The only difference I can see is the MeeMee cooked them in bacon grease and it gives them a really good flavor and extra crispy edges.

Normally I avidly read reviews before I just dive into a recipe. For some reason I dived into this recipe thinking it would be quick and easy, but I agree with previous reviews that I did not expect this recipe to turn out such flat, thin crepe-like pancakes. To puff them up, I added about a 1/2 tsp of baking powder and a 1/4 Cup more flour. That did the trick and they turned out nice! ... not as fluffy as I would have liked but a start

These pancakes are tasty, but are too much like crepes to be called pancakes. When I think of buttermilk pancakes I think of light and fluffy. These were rubbery and thin and didn't really taste like pancakes.
