Ingredients

  • 1 pound edamame, fresh or frozen, in or out of shell
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Kosher salt, optional

Directions

Place the edamame and water into a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 4 to 6 minutes. Drain any excess water and serve as is or with salt.

    Thank you so much, Alton, for doing an episode on edamame!! I've loved basic edamame ever since I was introduced to it at a Japanese restaurant near Michigan State. I will definitely take these tips to perfect the edamame I prepare at home and definitely try the other recipes provided. Again, thank you!!
