    Top Notch and So Easy

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I've made this recipe ten or twelve times now and each time it has turned out just right. I find it works just as well with... 1/4 cup of maple syrup as it does with 1/3 cup and pecan halves are a good substitute for or addition to mix with the walnut halves. (Although the walnut halves are my favorite here.) To jazz it up a bit as I've experimented with the recipe I've added about 1/2 tsp of finely minched fresh rosemary along with about the same amount of ground cumin and a pinch of cayenne and that's been a good sort of "bar flavor" combo added to the salty / sweet base. These are not only good as snacks, they are great coarsely chopped and added to salads or to serve with pears and with or without yogurt for dessert. This is a "go to" recipe. Read more

    Great Snack Food

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I made the recipe as written with walnuts and then did it twice more using pecans and then almonds. I toast all of my nuts... when I buy them in bulk and then freeze them, so all the nuts were pre-toasted. We love them! I bagged them in 1/3 cup servings and put them back in the freezer. I'll pack one a day for work to satisfy an afternoon snack attack. Read more

Simple and Quick Recipe for Cooks of All Skill Levels

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
A perfect, simple snack. Wonderful combination of sweet with a hint of salt. Much cheaper than purchasing commercially... prepared snacks and probably healthier for you as well. First modification was to toast the walnuts prior to adding the maple syrup. Second mod was to melt 2 tablespoons of butter prior to adding the maple syrup to the skillet and cooking.Read more

    YUMMY VARIATION....

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
These are terrific just as they are .....but for a really interesting variation, add a pinch of cayenne pepper (just a little... leaves you wondering what that interesting flavor is....)....more if you want enough spice to really taste it. Another option would be dried chipotle pepper....add more of a smoky note to the sweet. The only bad thing about these is limiting yourself to just the 1/3 cup (which is a hair over 1 ounce). Love em.Read more

    SOOO GOOOD!!!!!!!!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I was not expecting to be blown away. Surprise! These are amazing! They need a little bit more salt than it calls for, in... my humble opinion. I highly suggest using KOSHER SALT versus table salt; add it on top immediately after pulling them off the burner (so it sticks). It brings out the flavor of the sweet so much more. You can easily eat an entire batch of these, like popcorn. Read more

WOW!!! The perfect, yummy & easy snack!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This was so yummy and easy to make. So much better than store bought and so much better for you. It was the perfect balance... of sweet, salty and slightly crunchy. I love this stuff. My "super picky - won't try anything new" husband even loved them. I made a half batch to start with and they were gone in a bout 5 minutes. It's too easy and delicious not to try. You almost froget it's good for you. Read more
