    Great pita chips

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I have high blood pressure, so I always watch my sodium intake. This pita chips had a lot less salt than store-bought pita... chips, so I gave it a try. I even decreased salt to 1/4t in this recipe, and it did not taste bland at all, with all of other spices. Next time, I am going to eliminate it totally. Another thing what I might want to do is to separate layers of pita bread and to decrease baking time a little bit. That way I will get more chips per serving and they will be easier to bite into... Better than buying pita chips!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I love spicy pita chips so I added a little extra cayenne pepper when I made these and I loved the results! Whenever I have... bought spicy pita chips I have been disappointed after eating a few, they have too many calories, not enough flavor, and are really hard and thick. By making my own pita chips using this recipe I am not only happier with the taste, I am also happier knowing that I am snacking healthier than if I were to eat store bought pita chips. Read more

    EXCELLENT!!!!!

The spices that were combined work well together. However I had to double the amount of ingredients. I just didn't think it... was enough for all the pita slices. Denise from warren,MI 8-06-09Read more

    Spiced Pita Chips

We've made a similar recipe to this for years. You can make crispy chips by putting the pita in the microwave for maybe 10... seconds until it puffs a little, carefull...it will be hot....then take it out and on a cutting board (we've always used a pizza cutter)...cut the pita in half then into sixths. These will separate/tear easily. We've always put the non-cut side on the cookie sheet...sprayed the tops with Pam...and then sprinkled with our favorite spices. Usually, if in a hurry...we've used seasoned salt sparingly. You will cook these for only about 5-7 min. They're crispy and make great dippers...or load up a tray, then shredded lettuce, taco meat, tomatoes, salsa and cheese for an excellent appetizer. Read more

Great Middle-Eastern flavor. All of the spices work well together, and it is a great appetizer when paired with hummus!
