Ingredients

  • 1 wedge Ruby Red grapefruit
  • Coarse kosher salt
  • 6 ounces tequila
  • 1/3 cup Ruby Red vodka
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup
  • 1 cup Ruby Red grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed or from a carton
  • 1/4 freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 4 cups ice cubes
  • 2 crosswise slices Ruby Red grapefruit, cut into quarters

Directions

Use the wedge of grapefruit to rub the rims of 6 margarita glasses with grapefruit juice. Dip the rims in the kosher salt to coat. Set aside as you prepare the margaritas.

Place the tequila, vodka, simple syrup, grapefruit juice, lime juice and ice in a bar blender and puree until smooth. Divide the margarita between 6 glasses and garnish with the grapefruit quarters.

    FANTASTIC!!!

Absolutely wonderful. I didn't find it as sweet as the other reviewers had, in fact I had to add more simple sugar, not much... though. So adjust to taste. I didn't use fresh squeezed juice but a very high quality bottled varity. It was soooo good. We also skipped the salt. Looking foreward to using fresh grapefruits when I make this again! The Absolute also goes great with club soda and a splash of grapefruit juice. Thanks Emeril for turning us onto this one :)Read more

    Loved it!!

The Margarita is wonderful with the ruby red grapefruit. The fresh squeezed juice isn't pink so it's not as pretty as the... picture. Thanks for a great recipe.Read more

    Tasty, sweet, sour

Easy to make, good for a couple, more if you like sweet drinks. Not a fan of frozen margaritas, we used regular ice cubes... and then added some crushed ice, which was splendid. Will try again without so much simple syrup. But altogether pretty good.Read more
