Looking for a delicious drink to serve for Halloween? We’ve transformed a standard Shirley Temple into a spooky, drippy mocktail perfect for trick or treaters — gummy eyeballs included. You can also add gin or vodka for the adults in the crowd — see the Cook’s Note for the perfect amount.

Ingredients

Directions

Special equipment:
6 to 8 colorful paper straws; optional
  1. Stir the corn syrup, grenadine and food coloring in a small bowl; set aside. Add the lemon-lime soda and seltzer to a large pitcher.
  2. For each serving, fill a pint glass halfway with ice. Pour in the soda mixture, leaving about 1 inch at the top. Use a tablespoon to drizzle 2 tablespoons of the grenadine mixture around the inside rim. The mixture should slowly drip down the inside of the glass. Add a gummy eyeball and a colorful paper straw, if using, and serve immediately.

Cook’s Note

To make an alcoholic version, add 2 ounces of gin or vodka to each glass, or 2 cups of gin or vodka to the pitcher.
