Ingredients

  • 1/2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt plus more to taste
  • 3/4 cup prepared or homemade mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup bottled chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 hard-cooked large egg, pushed through a sieve or finely chopped
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Make a paste with the garlic and 1/4 teaspoon of the salt by crushing them with the side of a chef's knife. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the garlic, mayonnaise, chili sauce, ketchup, onion, relish and egg until combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Use now or store covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

    Loved this

Did not have any chili sauce, so I used the same amount of a Green Mexican Salsa in a can...medium heat. Did not add the... egg. Ate it with Ina's roasted shrimp and wow. My honey loved it.Read more

I made this for reuben sand's, and it really added a great flavor! The garlic and the heat give this dressing an extra kick.... I omitted the egg for my dressing and it was wonderful.Read more

    Wow!

I knew this dressing was great and that my Father would love it when I first tasted it. At dinner that night, my husband,... not being a Thousand Island Dressing fan, stuck with my Dijon Vinaigrette. However, I left a little of my salad and asked if he would like to try it. He could not believe how good this dressing is!!! He put it on the rest of his salmon patty and the next day put some on a sandwich. It is the best TI dressing I?ve ever tasted! Thanks!!Read more

I would never consider Thousand Island Dressing "company" dressing... but this one is! Very yummy and a definite "do again!"
