Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 pounds good white chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 2 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 pounds frozen mixed berries or frozen raspberries

Directions

Combine the chocolate, heavy cream, and the vanilla in a heat-proof bowl and set it over a pan of simmering water until the chocolate melts.

About 5 minutes before serving, remove the berries from the freezer and place them on individual serving plates. Ladle the warm chocolate sauce over the berries and serve.

Yield: 8 to 10 servings

Note: You can either buy frozen berries, or freeze your own by placing the berries on a flat tray in layer. When the berries are fully frozen, keep them a plastic bag in the freezer. Larger berries, such as strawberries, do not freeze well.

way more sauce and frozen not partially frozen berries

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
I did extra berries up and 1/2 the white choc sauce. I still had so much sauce I could drowned not drizzle the berries. The... only berries that thawed much were the blueberries which after the hot sauce was put on they were actually partially frozen. The other berries were still frozen too eat. I have to say the flavor of sauce was very good but since there was way more sauce then needed and the berries did not partially thaw it overall was a big disappointment.Read more

Wonderful...looks fancy but is really simple

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is beautiful. It was so smooth and creamy and wonderful. My husband wants this one to be in "our" recipe book for... friends and family. Couple of tips...do not stir the berries in the chocolate. It will turn berry colored. Keep your chocolate at a very low simmer, be patient keep stirring it will turn out thick and smooth. I let mine sit about 7 minutes belfore topping. I put the berries in a wide rim shallow soup plate in the freeze. The cold plate and berries with warm chocolate were fantastic! I made 1/2 of the recipe and still had too much but left over chocolate is not a bad thing!Read more

    Easy, Yummy Dessert!

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I'm not usually a fan of white chocolate, but I really enjoyed this recipe! The combination of cold berries and warm... chocolate is nice, especially for summer. I also love that it's super easy to prepare!Read more

    Very disappointed; not very good

Rated: 1 stars out of 5
I tried this for the first time tonight, and I was very disappointed with the result. I made it exactly like the recipe... says, but the chocolate was too thin; I had to add another 1/2 pound of chocolate just to thicken it up a little. It was way too sweet for my personal taste. I'm going to tweak this recipe next time by using dark chocolate and cutting down on the amount of cream. Note: Don't use a ladle to put the chocolate on the berries! All of the excess chocolate puddles at the bottom of the bowl, making half of the berries inedible. Read more
