Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 small or 2 large ripe bananas, halved lengthwise
- 1 cup ice
- 1 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, for garnishing
Directions
In a nonstick pan over medium heat add the butter. Once the butter melts add the brown sugar and let the sugar melt and become bubbly. Add the bananas and cook until caramelized, about 2 minutes per side. Let cool slightly.
Mix the ice, ice cream, milk, vanilla and bananas in a blender until smooth but still thick. Pour the shake into 4 chilled glasses and sprinkle with the cinnamon.

Not so great. The caramelized bananas added an odd sweet flavor to the shake which was unappetizing

I followed this recipe perfectly and came out with nothing better than an average shake. I had three teenagers crazy about banana shakes (whose favorite is Culver's, and not one of them finished their "bland" shake. This is the first d'Arabian recipe that really didn't impress a single person.
