Has become a 4 year now requested favorite in my family, both sides. Just test it first so you know how strong it is or how you would like to tweak it around to be sure it is not too strong for those guests who will be driving home. Otherwise? My family is furious when I don't serve this, it's is yummy however strong or weak you make it. If you can't find the vanilla flavored vodka, I have been known to add a couple of drops of white vanilla flavoring into a batch of vodka. And if you want to weaken it, little bit of cold whole milk does the trick.

We tried this a couple different ways testing out the recipe for a party coming up later this week. We particularly liked one variation based off comments here using Vanilla Vodka and only a splash of peppermint schnapps. We tried crushed candy canes on the rim, but they were a little bit sharp. My girlfriend brought over this cocktail spice called Sweet Mint Cocktail Sugar and it was really nice as a rimmer for this drink. Can't wait to share this with friends later this week. Thanks for a great cocktail recipe!

I love this drink. I use vanilla vodka though because I prefer it to rum. But it is VERY yummy!! A little bit of Christmas in every sip!
