Ingredients
- 4 russet potatoes, rinsed, peeled, and cut into 1/4-inch thick sticks
- 1 1/2 cups canola oil
- Salt
- 1/4 cup creamy ketchup (reserved from Fast Food Cheese Burgers recipe)
Directions
Preheat oven to 200 degrees F.
Rinse potatoes under hot tap water and drain well. Dry the potatoes between several sheets of paper towels.
In a 12-inch skillet over medium heat, add the oil and heat to 360 degrees F. Add the potatoes and fry until golden brown and crisp. After watching Sandra's episode on fast food at home, I had to give the fries a try. The fries were a hit! I don't have much experience with frying so I didn't know how the meal would turn out. My daughter gave the fries a thumbs up and came back for more. My husband has made fries before, but mine this time surpassed his earlier attempts! Sandra gave a few helpful hints like washing the cut fries and making sure they were dry before frying. Easy directions. A bit time consuming for me because I sliced the russets by hand and I may have had a smaller pan for frying them.
