Game On

Chefs Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay survey their potential recruits from a perch above the kitchen. This season, they're facing off to whip hopeless cooks into kitchen shape, and each chef is determined to come away a winner. "This is a game changer," says Bobby. "I'm here to win."

Tryouts

Tasting the "audition" dishes of Worst Cooks hopefuls, including delicacies such as "Dishwasher Salmon" and this depressing take on spaghetti and meatballs, is not a fun job for Anne and Bobby.

Chef Bobby's Team

Bobby's team was partially selected by him and partially by Chef Anne, so it's a mixed bag of recruits ranging from completely clueless to "the best of the worst."

Lesson #1

Anne gets Kitchen Boot Camp started with a breakfast of pancakes and eggs. The recruits are petrified: "We have to replicate Anne's dish exactly. There's no way I can do that," says Eric.

Prepping For Breakfast

To kick off his breakfast demo, Bobby explains the importance of mise en place: prepping and organizing your ingredients in advance. "Mise en place? It sounds like a disease," remarks Cheryl.

Lost Cause

Eric is frantic from the get-go, talking to his pancakes and telling them to bubble. Unfortunately, this strategy is not exactly effective and Eric is the first Red Team recruit to get the boot from Boot Camp.

Dazed and Confused

Over on the Blue Team, Libby doesn't fare much better. Her breakfast food is a total disaster, prompting Bobby to ask if there was something in his demo that she didn't understand. "Pretty much everything!" she admits.

Best of the Worst

Despite a could-have-been-disastrous syrup spill, Tiffany's breakfast is the best of the Blue Team and Chef Bobby names her the winner. "For this moment, I suck the least," she says, "And that is a good place to be!"

Another Strong Start

Chef Bobby checks in on Kelli, one of the more promising recruits who ended up on Chef Anne's team. Her pancakes and eggs scored her the first win for the Red Team. Will she keep the momentum going next week?
