Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray

Flour, for dusting

1 pound refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature

1/3 cup pizza sauce

3/4 cup shredded mozzarella

Optional Toppings:

Sliced olives, bell peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms, broccoli florets, deli-sliced ham, diced pineapple and/or halved cherry tomatoes

Directions

Special equipment:
4-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter
  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment and lightly grease with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Place the pizza dough on a lightly floured work surface and roll it with a rolling pin until about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Using a 4-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, stamp out 12 hearts from the dough and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spread about 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce onto each heart, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edge. Sprinkle the cheese over the sauce and add any of your desired toppings.
  5. Bake until the crusts are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly, 13 to 15 minutes.
