Ingredients
1/2 onion, peeled, finely diced
1/2 teaspoon ground garlic
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound barley
6 cups chicken stock
Directions
- Barley: Cook onion, garlic, bay leaves, and salt in butter until onions are soft, do not color. Add barley and chicken stock and cook until barley is tender.
- Serve barley with Braised Beef Shank
