BBQ Mini-Meatballs

Ingredients

1/2 can evaporated milk

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1 cup quick cooking oats

1 egg, slightly beaten

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

2 cups Neelys BBQ sauce, recipe follows

Neelys BBQ Sauce:

2 cups ketchup

1 cup water

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

5 tablespoons light brown sugar

5 tablespoons sugar

1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper

1/2 tablespoon onion powder

1/2 tablespoon ground mustard

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except BBQ sauce. Mix well with hands. Shape mixture into the size of walnuts and place in a single layer in a 13 by 9-inch pan. Pour Neelys BBQ sauce over meatballs and bake for 45 minutes. Remove and serve with toothpicks as an appetizer.

Neelys BBQ Sauce:

  1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and mix well. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to simmer. Cooked uncovered, stirring frequently every 15 minutes, for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

I made these for a high school cross country banquet. I doubled the recipe and put them in a crockpot and took them to school. There was nothing left but a little sauce. Planning on making these again!
