Ingredients
2 lime wedges, plus 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
Coarse salt, for the glass
Ice cubes, for the cocktail shaker and the glass
1 1/2 ounces blanco tequila
3/4 ounce agave
1 tablespoon frozen blood orange puree, thawed (see Cook's Note)
Directions
Special equipment:
A margarita glass A cocktail shaker- Rub 1 of the lime wedges around the outside of the rim of the margarita glass, and then roll it in the salt. Fill the glass with ice.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour the tequila, lime juice, agave and blood orange puree over the ice. Shake vigorously 10 times. Strain into the margarita glass, garnish with the remaining lime wedge and serve.

Frozen blood orange puree is available on-line and from some specialty food stores.
