Ingredients

1 lime

1 tablespoon superfine sugar

2 ounces Cachaça*

Crushed ice

Directions

  1. *Cachaça is a Brazilian brandy made from sugar cane.
  2. Cut up a lime into 8 wedges. Muddle the wedges in a rocks glass with sugar. Add Cachaça and top with ice. Stir and serve.

Good recipe, but I think it can be more boozy. I like the review below where someone mentioned muddling the lime and ice together. I've seen it made that way in Rio as well, but I've also seen it made Bobby's way.<div><br /></div><div>If you don't have superfine sugar, you can use regular - just make sure it dissolves in the lime. Muddling might also be easier if you cut each wedge in half.</div>
