Caramel Apples

Ingredients

4 medium apples

2 cups sugar

1 tablespoon corn syrup

1/2 cup water

1 cup or 2 sticks butter, cut in pieces and at room temperature

1 cup heavy cream

Pinch salt

CROCK POT APPLES

2 packages caramels, 28 ounces

1/2 cup water

8 apples

Sticks to pierce apples (chopsticks are fine)

Directions

  1. Fill a bowl with water, to chill caramel if it starts to burn. Insert a stick into apples. Place sugar, syrup, and water in a saucepan and stir with a wooden spoon to combine. Then, do not stir until the color is a deep amber. Remove from heat. Using a clean wooden spoon, beat in butter then stir in cream and salt. Dip apples and place on waxed paper until hard.;

CROCK POT APPLES

  1. In a crock pot combine caramel and water. Cover and cook on high for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Turn control to low; dip apples and cool on waxed paper.;
