Classic Caipirinha

Ingredients
2 Tahiti limes
1 tablespoon sugarcane sugar (see Cook’s Note)
2 ounces (60 milliliters) cachaça
Ice
Directions
- Cut each lime in half, avoiding the white skin in the middle, and proceed to cut the halves into 4 pieces.
- Put the limes, sugar and cachaça in a cocktail shaker and muddle them well until the juice is released. Add ice and shake vigorously.
- Pour everything from the cocktail shaker into a cup; do not strain it into a cup — the lime pieces are supposed to be there. Serve.
Cook’s Note
Do not use simple syrup. The sugar grains are supposed to be in the drink.
