Brie Puff Skewers

  • Level: Easy
  • Yield: 6 to 8 servings
  • Total: 45 min
  • Active: 20 min
This easy-to-serve appetizer is like cheese and crackers on a stick with a few key flavor boosts. A bit of jam keeps the puff pastry from drying out and contrasts well with fresh thyme. If you don’t have fig jam you could also use apricot.

Directions

  1. Brush 1 sheet thawed frozen puff pastry with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt, pepper and poppy seeds. Cut into 1-inch squares. Put on a baking sheet, place another baking sheet on top and bake at 400°F until crisp, 25 minutes. Cut 8 ounces brie into 1-inch pieces; sprinkle with chopped thyme, salt and pepper. Sandwich a piece of brie and some fig jam between the pastry squares. Thread onto skewers.
