Ingredients

1 smoked ham hock

8 cups water

2 tablespoons salt

2 to 3 bunches turnip or mustard greens, washed, stems removed and discarded

Directions

  1. In a large stockpot over medium high heat add ham hock, water and salt, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 1 to 1-1/2 hours or until ham hock is almost tender. Add greens, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes or until good and tender.

didnt care for this version of greens. very bland...not like other times when ive had greens at a restaurant and theyve have a nice mix of pork and greens flavor...these did not
