Ingredients
Base:
2 cups cubed cantaloupe
2 limes, juiced
1/3 cup agave
Pinch flaky sea salt
Margarita:
2 ounces tequila blanco
1 1/2 ounces triple sec
Ice, for shaking and serving
Chile lime seasoning, for the rim
1 lime wedge
1 slice cantaloupe
Directions
- For the base: Add the cantaloupe, lime juice, agave and salt to a blender the blend until well combined, 45 to 60 seconds. Place a fine mesh sieve over a bowl and strain the mixture through the sieve, pushing slightly to get all the juice you can into the bowl. Set the bowl of juice aside and discard the pulp in the sieve.
- For the margarita: Add 8 ounces salted melon base, the tequila and triple sec to a shaker filled with ice (save any remaining base for another use). Shake with ice for 15 to 20 seconds to chill.
- Place the chile lime seasoning on a shallow plate. Run the lime wedge over the rim of a 16-ounce glass and dip into the seasoning so that it sticks to the rim. Fill the glass with ice, then pour over the shaken margarita. Add the slice of cantaloupe to the glass and enjoy.
