Seared Macadamia Crusted Tuna

Ingredients

2 pound sushi-grade tuna

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 egg white, beaten

1 1/2 cups macadamia nuts, chopped

1 to 2 tablespoons canola oil

Directions

  1. Cut tuna into 6 blocks. Salt and pepper all sides of the fish. Roll in the egg white and then into the nuts. Sear in a lightly oiled cast iron pan to desired doneness.

this recipe was super easy and very good. I mixed wasabi powder into the ground macadamia nuts along with black sesame seeds. I was out of ground ginger, but I would have added that, too. I love my tuna with a kick to it.<br /><br />I used Sesame oil to sear the tuna instead of Canola Oil. I put in a bit of soy sauce, too. <br /><br />Very good and I'll make this again, probably with a new twist! I can never follow a recipe to a "T" as I love to play with my food!
