Steamed Okra

Ingredients

1 pound medium okra pods

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Rinse the okra thoroughly in cold water. Place into steaming basket over 1 to 2 inches of boiling water. Cover and cook until tender, but crisp, about 5 minutes. Toss with butter and salt. Serve warm.

Best way to eat okra, my opinion. Steam fresh small okra pods for 3 minutes or less.<br />Drizzle one scant tablespoon butter, juice of one lemon or lime. Serve al dente, with small sprinkling of Parmesan Reggiano,,or NOT. Serve hot, or at room temperature.<br /><br />Works well with freshly thawed frozen okra pods as well<br /><br />Incredible
