Fruit and Candy Bouquet

This bouquet is an alternative to flowers that any mom can really sink her teeth into. Cut off the bottom third of a pineapple to use as the base. Use cookie cutters to cut shapes out of 3/4"-thick slices of fruit, and slide onto wooden kebab skewers. Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple work best for cutouts. Thread grapes and strawberries onto skewers and arrange all the skewers in the pineapple bottom like a bouquet. If Mom has a sweet tooth, add chocolate-dipped marshmallows.

Limoncello

Celebrate Mom with a tart and boozy bottle of homemade limoncello! Use a vegetable peeler to remove the yellow skin from 8 lemons, avoiding the white pith as much as possible. Combine the skins and a 750-ml bottle of vodka in a large pitcher. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and store out of direct sunlight for about a week. When you're ready to bottle the limoncello, make a simple syrup by combining 2 cups of sugar dissolved in 2 cups of water and simmered down into a syrup. Strain the vodka and combine with sugar syrup in a gift bottle. Serve chilled.

Recipe Tea Towels

Turn everyday tea towels into permanent works of art with fabric markers and a little imagination. Handwrite Mom's favorite recipe on a tea towel so she has it handy in the kitchen, or doodle a portrait of you and her together on Mother's Day. She'll love having a thoughtful —and useful — reminder of your artwork at her fingertips.

Oatmeal and Honey Body Scrub

Mom may not have the time to get to the spa, but she'll still love the gift of time to pamper herself at home. This homemade body scrub is easy to make with ingredients found in the pantry. Oatmeal works as an excellent exfoliant and can also calm redness. Honey is soothing and full of antioxidants. Just add 1/2 cup of oatmeal (ground up coarsely in a blender or food processor) with 1/4 cup of honey and 1/4 cup of coconut oil. Store in a small Mason jar with a tight-fitting lid.
