Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons buckwheat honey, divided
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 12 fresh figs, halved
- 12-inch wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
- 1 pint mascarpone
- 1/4 cup chopped pistachios
Directions
Heat grill to medium. Whisk together 3 tablespoons honey and the orange juice in a small bowl. Brush the honey-orange mixture generously over the figs and then skewer figs. Grill, cut side down, until just starting to caramelize, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Transfer to a serving plate and drizzle remaining tablespoon honey over top. Dollop with mascarpone and sprinkle with chopped pistachios. Serve.

This recipe was delish and the presentation was just beautiful. The figs became even sweeter and had a creamy texture after they were grilled. I paired it with a grilled peach with cinnamon and put a dollop of marscopone over the individual desert dish, drizzled the orange-honey mix over the cheese with pistachios. Highly recommended!

My neighbor gave me a basket full of fresh figs the other day and I decided to make this recipe because I was already grilling some other stuff. My family had never even had a fresh fig before and they were totally wowed by this.
The orange-honey glaze really brings out the sweetness of the figs. They kind of melt in your mouth when you take a bite.

Bought 8 oz. of Mascarpone yesterday for 99 cents, $5 off, found figs today at a Chinese market, 99 cents for 8 oz, 12 good sized figs, usually 50 cents each. Don't know if it is salad or desert but this recipe is perfect for my find.
