very tasty and easy. I think getting the right bread is crucial though. Challah is not readily available to me and the substitute that I chose was a little to crunchy.

Made this for dinner last night with a side dish of steamed green beans. I couldn't find challah at the grocery store, so I substituted a soft sourdough that I sliced thinly, which was great. The only other change I made was to add some carmelized sweet onion, which works nicely with the crunchy apple. The balsamic reduction was delicious. Would make a great picnic sandwich if you waited until the last minute to apply the sauce.
