A classic margarita has a 3-2-1 ratio of tequila to orange liqueur to fresh lime juice. Cointreau is more expensive, but also a little smoother in taste. If you don’t love a salted rim, try a combination of salt and sugar.
Shake the tequila, Cointreau and lime juice in a shaker with ice. Strain into an ice-filled glass (rim with salt, if desired). Garnish with a lime wheel.
