Homemade Pop Tarts

What You'll Need: 1 store-bought pie crust + Nutella & strawberry jam (or any filling you want) + egg wash (1 egg + 1 teaspoon water) + 1 cup confectioners' sugar + 1 teaspoon vanilla extract + 2 tablespoons milk.

What to Do: Using a rectangle cookie cutter or ruler, cut out rectangles from your pie dough. Place half of the rectangles on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place 1 tablespoon of filling on each of these rectangles. Top each with matching rectangle and crimp edges together with a fork. Brush tops with egg wash and bake for 10 to 12 minutes in a 350 degrees F oven, until tops are golden brown. Cool completely on a baking rack. For the vanilla glaze, combine the confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and milk until smooth. Pour glaze onto the cooled pop tarts and top with colorful sprinkles.

Apple Galette

What You'll Need: 1 store-bought pie crust + 2 large apples (peeled, cored and thinly sliced) + 2 tablespoons brown sugar + 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon + 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

What to Do: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch and lemon juice. Toss to combine. Pour the apple mixture onto the center of the crust, leaving a 1-inch border around the sides. Gently overlap the dough and pinch to keep the folds together. Lightly brush egg wash (1 egg + 1 teaspoon water) on the edge of the dough, and sprinkle with the turbinado sugar. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender. Cool on baking sheet on a wire rack.
